I will say I'm stuck in my ways when it comes to lipstick. Wearing a shade of red about 80% of the time and only ever trusting MAC due to their fantastic matt range which has such great staying power. But feel it's time to branch out and give another brand a go! This NARS shade is the perfect bright red but the consistency is less matt that what I'm used to. In order to keep it lasting the day I find blotting it once and then applying a second layer of colour, followed by an application of Lipcote to seal works a treat. While I wouldn't say I'm a frequent wearer of dresses, this summer I've been inspired. On a recent visit to Spring restaurant (which I would highly recommend) I witnessed a coterie of waitresses who calmly worked the room in coloured sack-like dresses (designed by Egg of Knightsbridge) teamed with white plimsoles.
COS was obviously the first port of call on my search for a dress which fit the minimal, colour, cotton criteria. Having said that, it's my first port of call on most shopping missions. While there I picked up these gold disc earrings which haven't left my lobes since.
On a recent outfit shoot with photographer Lauren Maccabee, I was lucky enough to have hairstylist Paul Donovan on hand! He was visiting Brighton on proper paid business with my friend David Downton, but I was able to pinch him for an hour to keep my hair looking fresh between shots. I could get used to this...
COS recently teamed up with the Austrian based design studio chmara.rosinke, to create their Mobile Pop up Store. The intention behind it was to design a functional object with a strong personality and character but one that works cohesively with the design of the garments on display.
We were lucky enough to have it pop up in Brighton recently. The trolley was parked up on New Street for the weekend displaying some gorgeous and typically minimal pieces, with COS staff giving away a generous 20% off to passers by.
The COS trolley will be going to other locations this summer so watch out for it in a town near you!
I love mood evoking fragrances like these ones from Industria. Created in conjunction with one of the oldest perfumer and candle makers in Tuscany, Cereria Migone (Est.1886). Bergamotto has a really fresh smell - perfect for the day with notes of citrus and bergamot, while Cardinalis is a more moody fragrance with notes of coconut and cardamom. Available at Nola Boutique
At last the sun has decided to make an extended appearance and we can safely say that summer is here.
I'm really pleased to finally be wearing some of the spring summer pieces I bought back in April, and enjoying having my hands free now that I've got this beautiful Loxley England rucksack to put all my things in. I've been wanting a rucksack for a while but couldn't decide on one until this beaut caught my eye. It's made from a lovely glossy full grain leather, lined with Liberty print fabric and it's the perfect size to take to work with me.
Also loving these Laurence Dolige leather slides which, after a traumatic start (had to break these bad boys in) are now my go to sandal.
